The Republic of Maldives, or simply the Maldives, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. It consists of approximately 1,190 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 26 atolls, along the north-south direction, spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making this one of the most disparate countries in the world.
Kate MacDowell is an amazing sculptor mainly working with the porcelain medium. Her pieces are in part responses to environmental stressors including climate change, toxic pollution, and gm crops. Kate states that, “I see each piece as a captured and preserved specimen, a painstaking record of endangered natural forms and a commentary on our own culpability.”
The best pictures of wildlife based on the result of the contest “Golden Turtle” was conducted in Moscow. The exhibition features more than 200 works selected from the 18,000 sent to the contest. Also in the hall of the exposition of the best photos of different years of the competition “The European wildlife photographer.”
